If I Were To Go To Krabi, Songkhla and Hatyai

Apr 30, 2019

It´s April and I finally did something for my "travel" resolution of at least plans one. By the way, it feels like ages ago that I started this post and I finally come back to it and finish it for good. The idea was that the planning itself might get you pumped up. It was initially just Hatyai. A quick escape. But then I thought, I should really go to Krabi as well.

Let´s just get into it.

First of all, getting into Krabi. My best choice would be going to Krabi and travel down from there to Songkhla and finally Hatyai. I was excited about the idea of flying to Krabi and return by train from Hatyai. But getting a train from Hatyai is tricky. I might end up needing to take a bus.

According to Skyscanner apps (I planned this to be somewhere at the end of June or early July), the flight tickets can be around RM83 to RM100.  Bus ticket from TBS to Hatyai is RM70 and according to this blog it cost her RM85 to go to Krabi from Hatyai. She did say that she get a bad deal cause it can be around RM55 to RM65

On the other hand, taking a train from Hatyai will cost me RM120 (including the train ride from Hatyai to Padang Besar). I also budget around RM50 for transportation as it seems the tuk-tuk fare is quite cheap and we just need to walk more.

Apart from that, it is estimated that the bus fare from Krabi to Songkhla to be around RM40 while only RM5 from Songkhla to Hatyai.

But, I'm not entirely sure that there is a bus trip from Krabi to Songkhla because there is only one source that I can found showing this trip and we need to change buses at Trang. I also can't find anything on EasyBook apps so I decided it will be best to go straight to Hatyai and take a trip via tuk-tuk or minivan to Songkhla for a simple day trip and went back to Hatyai.

Now let me show you my grand table of transportation fees. I can be too detailed sometimes.

So transportation alone has cost me (pergi balik)

  • RM 300 for both - if we take a flight to  Krabi and went back by bus // if we went to Hatyai by bus and take a van to Krabi and went back KL by bus
  • RM350 if we took the train to go back
  • Need to consider extra cost to go to KLIA
  • RM50 to spare for tuk-tuk.
By far, taking a bus will be the cheapest and less hassle but it's going to be such a long ride.

Next is lodging. It seems like Ao Nang is a bit high end and from my research on Trivago, I need to budget around RM100 per night for 2 people and around RM80 to stay in Hatyai (also for 2 persons). The plan was to stay for two nights at Krabi and another two nights at Hatyai. This summed up to RM360 or RM180 per person.

So, both transportation and lodging will cost me RM480

I also budget for a simple rice dish and trying some foods at Hatyai so maybe around RM35 per day but RM50 for my food venture at Hatyai. That will be RM200.

Now everything will cost me - RM680

Island hopping packages (including snorkeling)  may cost from RM100 to RM160 but we need to survey it ourselves. So that will total up to RM840

The plan was to spent our first day at Ao Nang simply strolling around and looks for a good package. The second day will be spent on island activities. On the third day, we will go back to Hatyai and maybe go to Songkhla on that same day.

As for the other activities, hopefully, I can also go to Ao Luk but I'm not a fan of kayaking lol. For Hatyai, I just want to go to Greenway Night Market, Asean Market, their floating market and do some massage. I think it would be nice to go to the municipal park and ride a cable car. As for Songkhla, I want to go to Samila beach, Tangkuan Hill, Songkhla old town and probably this municipal park with that big dragon head statue.

How´s Life and New Year´s Resolutions Review

Apr 6, 2019

This is so surreal. How the heck it is April already??

If you guys read my New Year's Resolutions post, you will notice that I planned for the usual monthly targets and also a quarterly review of how far I have reached my New Year resolutions.

This is the first quarterly review. But before we did just that, I need to share some life's updates.

First of all, since I have finished my PRP and now a legally licensed pharmacist, I will have a penempatan semula which simply means I will be relocated. But since this is the first time that the government is hiring us as contracts and that the contracts stated that we need to stay in the same state, there are chances that we will return to the same hospital. In which I did. I'm staying at the same hospital where I was a trainee and now is some sort of the same level as those who teach/mentor/freaking-giving-me-marks-if-I-am-actually-capable-to-be-a-fully-licensed-pharmacist. It is all so weird.

Since I am most likely to stuck here for at least another year, I decided to move out of my old room (the hospital's dorm but actually more like a studio apartment) and live in a small city nearby. My hospital is in this a rural-ish area but with Guardian and KFC. It's really weird but the small city near the hospital is only about 15 to 20 minutes drive and there is where I live now.

That's it. I thought there are so much more to it but apparently, the moving out was a big toll on me that it feels like so much had happened.

Let's move on to the quarterly review.

lose weight

The main idea was to lose one kilogram per month by eating healthier and living a more active life. I try to eat healthier (aka less rice, less sugar, less fat) but when I am PMS-ing, I tend to eat more but I'm still quite satisfied with how I have eaten less junk food. I realize that this planning thing really makes me second guessing "do I really need that food". I did lose about 3 kg but it is also contributed by how I start to control my eating from last December. I forgot to weigh myself and just follow the last weighing I did for this health program monitoring that hospital did on their staff.

As for living a more active lifestyle, getting that 10k is impossible and it was almost annoying to fight how tired and sluggish I feel after work every day. One of the reasons I wanted to move out is so that the new living arrangement will make me more likely to go to the stadium or the gym. Apparently, a klinik kesihatan here have their own well-equipped gym. It has been three days now that I went there. I only use the treadmill or that bicycle thingy. It feels really good and I am inclined to go there every day. Let's hope I'll stick to this routine!

I still want to do that light routine every morning but well, I still don't. The gym really makes me tired and let's hope I can have better sleeps and thus wakes up earlier and then I can do that morning routine.

reading

I didn't finish my March reads and I only read one book on January so I have now finished three out of six books that I need to read in order to reach my Goodreads pledge of 25 books. As for the variety that I have aimed for, I still didn't read any local indie fictions but I am now reading Murakami's. I don't think that I want to push myself so much for this reading resolution. So I'm quite satisfied with my current achievements.

money management

I am totally flopping in this area. I simply forgot about it actually. There was always something extra to be spent on January and February so I just don't feel like putting money into my saving accounts. The monthly donation I have aimed for was also flopping. But I will make an automatic deduction since I have decided an organization for it.

As for the menabung, I still didn't do it as it feels stupid. You see, I didn't withdraw much money from ATM in order to remind myself not to spend so much since it is troublesome to go to the ATM. For the very same reason, I usually pay everything online or via debit card whenever I´m allowed to do so. So I am canceling this resolution and just focus on monthly savings first.

I wonder if I can do automatic deduction into my saving account. Apparently, I also need to take serious consideration in making sure I didn't spend too much on my daily food. I try to do this food budget but I simply forget about it too lol. I always buy outside food and never cares about how much I spent on it. I need to be more careful about this.

having fun

I have only met my friends in January and didn´t do any catching up on both February and March. I was planning to go to my friend wedding last March but I totally forgot about it and went to my aunt house since my siblings went there for the school holiday. I feel so bad about it. I really need to buy something for her.

Anyway, I´ve got some days off in April so I might go to meet my friends. I was thinking to go to Seremban and just chill for a day there. We´ll see how it goes.

I also need to have a nice, long vacation. I need to plan this well and by planning that means saving money too.

trying more new things

  1. Have a pet - my new placce didn´t allow pets so this plan might be halted till next year
  2. Learn mandarin - I´m thinking to learn some simple term from my chinese friends that I can also use at work. I´ll start there first.
  3. Learn brush painting - I just added this among to do list in April
  4. Learn to use a music apartment - this might be loud so I don´t think it will be appropriate to do in my new place.
  5. Be minimalist - my new place is basically a single room with a shared kitchen, toilets etc. It is a smaller room than my old one. The prospect of being able to be more minimalist is actually among other reason why I chose this place. I either throw out things I don´t need or left it at home. I also make sure I have the biggest possible free space. This is officially my first step of being a minimalist.

Apart from self-projects, I really didn´t do much outside my comfort zone. I´m not big on travelling but I think I need to do one just so I can venture more new things. I also need to be more disicplined with my losing weight and better money management too. I think that´s it for now. Next review will be at the end of June.

April Targets - Go Big or Go Home

Apr 4, 2019

LOL. I am definitely going home but a girl ought to dream.

I was thinking to merge my New Year´s resolutions review with April´s target but since the review is going to be wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy longer while this is just a simple post, I decided to do this first.

I have officially moved into my new place and it feels good. I  am thinking to tweak around the arrangements a bit more and made it more chic like I did with my old place but for now, this totally works.

Since I have flopped March so gloriously, let´s hope we can do a whole lot better in April.

The targets areeeeeeeeeee

*cue for drumroll please*

  1. Finish reading both Kafka on The Shore and Norwegian Wood
  2. Read one poetry book
  3. Finish reading Al Baqarah translations
  4. Do 5 poems discussion on Instagram
  5. Try to at least go to the gym twice a week
  6. Try to do at least 5 brush drawing practice (i think i have lost my brushes and watercolor)
  7. A detailed itinerary to Thailand that includes Hatyai and Krabi
  8. Write all 30 poems according to prompts from NaPoWriMo and update it into a thread on Twitter
  9. No sugary drinks except for my daily morning coffee EOD

EOD is this universally used medical terms that means every other day.

Is there anything you wish to achieve in Apil?

Life - 2019 Resolutions

Jan 7, 2019

I know I should do this earlier but it doesn't really matter (cue for Bohemian Rhapsody).

I'm that person who thinks that if you want to change then do it now. Time is just a construct. But this year, it seems that the star has aligned. I finished my PRP early November. Had lots of off days during November and December to just have fun, do nothing and simply rest. But now, we are getting a fix in life. I can and I want to totally focus on me this time around so this year is going to be me figuring out myself.

There are two approaches to do this.

First, I will need to do a quarterly update (meaning I will update the progress at the end of March, June, September, and December). This will help me to get on track plus maybe dropping a thing or two if I think it is irrelevant.

Second, I'm trying to do monthly goals like Marzia did. I'm not a follower of lifestyle icon (?) because let's face it - those are so unrealistic. But apparently, I have a thing for Marzia. Her video is so cute and fun. It's a shame that she stopped doing videos. Anyway, you can't see it now since she has deleted her videos but what she did it that she has monthly goals which usually about three to four stuff but big stuff so it takes time to finish. Then she shares it through her video on the updates. I think the last one I saw is about her wedding planning like choosing a wedding dress. I will update in this blog since this blog is literally the best way for me to keep track of things

However, knowing that changes take time and I want these changes to be a permanent part of my life, we will do this slowly. Which is the very reason for that monthly goals so that I can focus certain things per month instead of wanting to do everything and bails. Oh yes, we are doing it slowly, basically, these resolutions is like things I want to have/developed by the end of the year.

Ok. Let's do this.

Lose weight

I never really put "losing weight" into a life-to-do-thing but since I have gained lots of extra weight especially during 2018 and I don't want to live a sad old life, I want to get in shape. This requires an active lifestyles and good eating habit. So for this, I'm aiming a weight loss of at least 1 kg per month. How?

  1. I need to really watch what I eat hence - calorie counting. There's an app called MyNutriDiari 2 which contains Malaysian foods that will make it easier for me to keep track of my calorie. Also, intermittent fasting diet seems good since I do want to have fasting as a habit.
  2. Living an active lifestyle. I want to commit to having 10k steps per day because I know it will be harder for me to actually go out and jogs. But I'll start gradually though. Same goes to doing calori deficit diet.
  3. Trying a simple exercise routine every morning. This is due to "Ikigai - The Japanese Secret to A Long Happy Life" that I just finished reading. It states how simple doing simple exercise daily can help you become happier or healthier. It's tempting because it simply suggests doing an exercise like taichi, qigong, etc, which is just a really simple set of movements.

reading

I put reading at a halt during 2018 since I want to focus on my PRP study and stuff. But I did finish a few books though and yes, I'm proud of myself. I'm always drawn to self-help books but for 2019, I'm going to read poetry and fictions only. I have pledged on Goodreads for 25 books this year. It will consist of all the poetry books that I have but still haven't finished reading and I'll treat myself to new fiction books. For fictional books, I'm thinking to just buy those that piqued my interest in Fatina's and Eyqa's review. I'm also going to read more local indie books ( I need to understand better what the fuss is all about). Oh yes, I need to try Murakami's too!

 money management

2018 is the year of spending and yolo-ing. But now, I need to be more responsible with my money. It kinda sucks seeing that I spend a lot but I'm not really sure for what? I'm pretty sure like half of it went to food and simply buying random pieces of stuff. I have a few things in mind for this.

  1. Set up monthly saving
  2. Set up monthly donations
  3. Set up monthly spending for family
  4. Start that save RM5 per day thing (I never menabung okay, I'm starting now)
  5. Keep a budget for food

having fun

If you read my previous post, you would understand why "having fun" is a to-do list. I'm stupid at this. I think it is pre-decided that I need to travel right? Seeing how shitty I am at saving money, traveling could be a good motivation. There are a few places I want to go which I'm planning to go with my friend. I also read somewhere, that even if you don't actually go, planning also gives some sense of satisfaction so there's that. Plus, I also want to spend more time with my friends which are conveniently nowhere near me which means I need to spend more efforts to meet them.

  1. Plans trip for Hatyai, Singapore, Sabah, Brunei and Japan
  2. Hopefully, I actually put that planning on practice
  3. Hang out with friends at least once a month

trying more new things

I have a few things I want to do in 2019 which I'm not really sure how to categorize it so here it is

  1. Have a pet
  2. Learn Mandarin
  3. Learn brush painting
  4. Learn how to use a music instrument (I'm so attracted to ukelele at the moment)
  5. Be minimalist (literally going through stuff and ponders if I need it. Will do a post about minimalism)

spiritual life

I'm not the most spiritual being. You will be so amazed at this statement if you knew my dad. Anyway. I want to be better. I guess, being led spiritually is the thing that I need now. People says, well, just do more ibadah then you'll find peace et cetera, et cetera. Well, I'm not suddenly wanting to do more ibadah lah kan? I'm totally a noob here. There's plenty of things to do but the main question here is where am I starting?

  1. Try to read more Quran and hopefully khatam once this year
  2. Read Quran translation - like the whole thing.

I'll do another post on what I aimed for January and I hope I'll keep updating to see the progress of stuff. Ok. Do you think I'm being delusional wanting to do all of these? Will 2019 be different? Cause honestly, time is just a social construct but wasting it is just the biggest sin out there.

btw, I make a new tag "2019" specifically for this resolution thingy

Roll On: Some Awesome Free E-book

Feb 25, 2017

25/02/2017

I always feel gloomy and so not motivated when I'm having my period, like now, so let's just get straight to the point.

gloomyyyy

Geez, do I have accidentally chose an easy topic for today since I am super lazy. At my worst, I would be so bored but I can't even bring myself to watch any movies since I am that lazy to focus on anything. I'd scrolled 9gag and skipped the ones with long words.

But alas, today, I want to share something that made me excited and motivated - Zen life. Well, used too, not like now.

It's not like I'm being a Buddhist okay, it is just that some of the principles are great and it actually in tally with Muslim teachings. It's good to see from other perspective and notice the similarities.
I have these on my board at UKM and it has been so refreshing to read it again and again
Source
I only stumbled upon this zen stuff when I accidentally read a blog called Zen Habits by Leo Babauta. It is so inspiring seeing how by setting his life into the right perspective has led him to pay all of him loans and generally having the best and satisfying life. He published two free e-books that I thought you all should read. I try to read few self-help books and went totally hopeless because I got bored damn easy. This book is light and quite short, so it suits me. It also quite interesting.

The first book called The Litle Book of Contentment. This book is rather unique as Leo asked those who read this book to read it in one sitting and with mindfulness on to change your bad habits.

The second book called The One Skill which I print it! I read The Art of Letting Go via my smartphone and it was so not satisfying so once I knew about this new book, I quickly print it.

The last e-book I want to share is a poetry ebook which I talked before as one of the means to improve my writing. I simply read a few of the poems and quickly fall in love. It is written by a blogger named Ally Mare and the book is called It's All About You

Click on the title to download the book.

Roll On: My Dorky and Quirky Lookbook

Jan 24, 2017

I was going through my old photos in the spirit of being organized and get the inspiration to do this. Actually, I was thinking to have the important pictures uploaded here since this blog is literally my diary. Some pictures were really mundane but held so many precious memories behind it. But for now, how about a little lookbook of what I wore during my time in UKM.

Lectures would have me wore lots of baju kurung since we have to strictly wear only formal clothes. Since that leads to such a dull repetition of clothing, I didn't take so many pictures of me in baju kurung.

The title has actually spoken tons behind my choose of attire. I am not the biggest fashion sense person and truly, I didn't have the heart to buy those expensive clothes when the ones I have worked just as fine. I do realize I should be since I am "going" to work in a formal atmosphere and of course I wouldn't want to wear baju kurung all the time. Imagine the trouble.

This thing is kinda a big deal for me. I learn a lot about myself simply by the things I wore in my years in UKM. It took me those first three years to understand how I want to look and what suited me. Not only in the sense of the type of clothing but also the size and cutting. Seriously folk, a woman attire is a puzzle itself.

I start wearing these kinds of muslimah t-shirts in UKM since there are lots of t-shirts you gotta buy
for all sorts of programs and they always have muslimah t-shirt option. This t-shirt particularly is my favorite and that is my best-tudung-malas-ever which I got about four years ago.

This is not me, if you can't tell already. This is how lab coat of a pharmacy student at UKM  looks like. I just want to show that.

This is our corporate shirt. Pharmacy in UKM tends to change the turquoise shade a bit different for each batch.
I don't know why. As you can see, the shirt cutting isn't really flattering on me and I'd love if it is a bit longer. See how much a mess I am with that tudung because I'm such a loser with tudung bawal. Now, if I ever want to look decent with a tudung bawal,  I can't wear any kind of small scarf under it and strictly wore it down ONLY.

This is what I wore during our third-year college dinner. No one really cares about college dinner and usually go all out for faculty dinner. However, I wore such a casual attire since the theme allows it. I don't remember what theme is it. This is my first time trying a decent two-piece. The ones with cardigans don't count! That is actually that maternity kind of shirt which is just ridiculous on me so I thought it will look better if I wore it this way. It does!

My first ever trying this feminine kind of floral printed shawl and totally in love at how it makes me look softer somehow. Actually, I got this one as a gift since I always lend my scooter to the girl who sells this.
That cardigan is getting baggy by time since it was a cheap one but I like the fabric and the cutting so so much. I always have a cardigan since I hate to change to a long sleeve t-shirt every time I went out for simple things like lunch or dinner.

This is the baju kurung that made me realize; do I have a thing for printed baju kurung instead of those fancy plain and intricate pattern? You see, I just don't feel true to myself wearing those plain patterned baju kurung. Btw, see what I did there, red shirt and blue scarf? I'm hinting Superman vibes.

That blouse is made of those fabric used to make a blazer. Quite thick and rough but the sturdiness make me look good at all time. It was Mak's. I always match it with a faded colored bottom like that jeans since apparently, I don't like if my pant/skirt having the same colour with my shirt.

Looky looky, i'm colour coordinated. Usually I will try not to be so colour coordinated because it felt boring to be in same-color-different-shades. Anyhow, this is the coat we wore during our clinical attachment, basically when we meet patients. I know right, we have all kind of coat for all kind of even. In UKM, all three course: pharmacy, medic and dental, actually owned different kind of coat.

I was going to submit my thesis for good. Here I am, at my simplest form. Donning my tudung malas, a simple t-shirt and my favorite black jeans. You know how shocked I am when I learned that most of my friends in UKM don't even own a jean? I practically live with jeans.

A fun day out! I like that shirt so much for the color and the way it fit me. Sincerely, I don't own good formal shirt that much really.  My shoes was actually a canvas shoe made to look like a combat boot. It is so comfortable. Even with such choices of shoes, I never look myself to dress boyishly.

As you can see by now, I am a shawl kind of girl.  I decided so when I was in third year I guess?
This is my ultimate lazy looks. Why? It is not a baju kurung actually screams malas and since no ironing is needed. I remember woke up that morning and just not wanting to iron anything but must look formal since it is OSPHE day. That flowy skirt, I forget what it called, is made of lycra and just fell onto your body.
I don't wear it that much now since it makes me look bigger.

Cliche en gambar with meds. Haha. Anyway, this is the only plain, fancy patterned at the bottom and of course pastel coloured baju kurung that I have. The only reason I owned this because I have an aunty who always give us the fabric to make into baju kurung and since she actually sells it, she would always have the trendy ones.

That skirt is my go-to-everywhere since it looks a bit preppy which gives the illusion, I give some thought onwhat I'm wearing today although really I didn't. It also accentuates my figure thus make me look even better. Again, all no-need-iron look and I am going on a day trip so of courseI would wear my comfiest t-shirt.

Oh my, all these old photos makes me feel nostalgic. As I was looking through the photo I realized how much I have change. My acne was so much better and looking at the old pictures of selfies I have, even with tons of acne, made me so proud of myself being able to just ignore that and have fun. Be that as it may, deep down I know how hurtful I am and remembering those feeling was just heart-breaking. My shawl game has improved so much as well and I am so glad I know better now how to dress. Most importantly being confident with it.

Confidence is the new sexy.

How about you guys? What is the one thing that would be the most important characteristic of your look?

p/s: I have made my mind to always have a Supernatural gif in all of my post. Consider it as a branding effort.

Roll On: Video editing attempt (Pulau Pangkor)

Dec 18, 2016

Assalammualaikum,

I went for Pulau Pangkor last Monday and Tuesday. Short trip just to look around since Pulau Pangkor is so near Seri Manjung. I have been meaning to try to edit video as this one so when I reached Pulau Pangkor I just randomly remembered this dream of mine and started to shoot videos . I do not even took much picture since I really does not like it. There is actually this school trip or something when we reach the Dutch Fort and the kids have been taking pictures. They took so many pictures and keep changing the role of model/photographer among them until finally were called to their van to continue their trip. They only took pictures.

I got nothing against people took photos and shared it to their social medias but I do watched some who go through so much trouble to took those pictures. Like so much troubles and it just kind sad.  The fort was really a beautiful thing and it stand there for hundreds of year.

I am nerd freak.

Anywayyyyyyyyyyyyy.

Enjoy the video!

By the way, it seemed like I cannot check out my followers blog since when I clicked their profile icon, it does not state the blog link. Urghh.

Roll On: Get Inspired Everyday, Everytime with TED-dy

Nov 20, 2016

I am fairly sure the acronym TED is purposely made because of the word Teddy as if in Teddy Bear.

Well, of course not. Not when it actually stand for Technology, Entertainment and Design. TED talks is this conference where cool people of all sort of background shared about their idea, hence TED tagline, "Ideas Worth Spreading".

The first time I come across TED is because of this genius in beatbox-er named Tom Thum. Angah found out about him and showed me the video. At that time, she told me briefly about TED being this conference where people talk stuff. Like important and serious kind of stuff. For God sake, the sponsors were Rolex and BMW, those high end people. I was like "so stuck up peoples are there and this Tom Thum guys is going to beatbox?". He must be really really good, yeah, you can be good in beatbox, but how you're going to introduce it to this kind of crowd and what the heck you're going to present. Beatbox all the way? It is not a club. So I watched it.

I was making the right decision, he was good.

Basically, the peoples in TED are genuinely passionate about their work. But not only that, they need to be able to have good content and deliver it greatly. I always love to see how people are constantly in love with what they do. It made their presentation 10 times better.

I always believe to be with people who has achieved so that we always want to achieve. It is hard though. Mainly because, among my friend and I is that I noticed, we were always feel intimidated with successful peoples. We would feel small and anxious that we could never be like them. Instead of becoming motivated to find something we want to be great in, we would scoot away and sort of admire from afar such that we can only do that.

We are not, you're awesome. Success is not fame and fortune. Success is being content.

Ok, that is so long and i'm not even close to what I want to write today. It was supposed to be a short introduction of what TED is and followed with REVIEWING TED APPS.

So good day, yada yada, today, I'm going to share with you about TED amazing app.

Having said how awesome TED is, it is getting better with TED app which made scrolling all the talks easier.

the playlist

This playlist is made by TED, not me. As you can see in the picture, they have all sort of talks and yeah, an hour and half is a loooooooooooooooooooooooooong way to go. Actually, it is the duration of all combined videos under the said topic (see those numbers on how many talks each topic has?).

Actually, the far left choice, before the Playlist choice, is the Home option. It would suggest videos that I might be interested in based on the video I have seen. I always like computers to suggest things for me since they always know me better.

But the coolest thing is that, even with the diverse topics, this app actually make it easier to find videos that you want by selecting certain topic and duration you want.

you can always just search anything that piqued your interest.

i would suggest to set the duration for at least 15 minutes because choosing shorted than that
will end up with small choices only.

The also have the list of all the speakers/performers who has delivered with the description of their career. Sometimes I'll go through the speakers names and choosing peoples based on their job. They can be all sort of jobs like Moustache Activist to Critical Thinker and the "mundane" ones like historian, architect, painter, journalist, lunch lady etc. It is not really jobs but some way to describe what kind of people they are. They even have kids which one of them described as being a Child Prodigy (i am reading An Abundance of Katherines right now so bless me because I actually knew this term upon reading this novel).

All the videos has short but concise description so you can be sure if it is the
kind of video you want to watch. As you can see there, you can download it!

All videos has been captioned so no worries ey. Not only that, you can keep on scrolling the app and have the talk played in background. It does not play once you close the app though.

I am suggesting you guys to download this app and give it a go. Stop scrolling all those social medias for nothing and start feeding our minds with ideas. It doesn't have to be things you need, it is just simply understanding peoples around the globes and expand your mind. Like for example, this Benjamin Zander guy who has made me wanting badly to go to an orchestra even though I have very limited knowledge of classical music. He is just that good.

p/s: Did you know young Heath Ledger is simply a definition of heartthrob. You don't? You should really watch 10 Things About I hate About You.

Roll On: No more Twitter for me.

Oct 26, 2016

That sounded quite dramatic isn't it?

Well, I don't know, maybe it was the boredom. Or the allure that some of my friends who were loudspoken on Twitter than on Facebook. We seems to easily let our life out on Twitter. I never thought I'd be one but I have. It felt so weird like weird weird kind of weird.

At first, thought it is good and okay thing. That it can be this record of my life. Or simply saying things out "loud". Something like to speak out and stuff. That it was normal. Everyone are doing it. The more I am involved, the further I come to realize that I start to have these moment and then i will be "i'm gonna tweet that".

The more I have these moments and the urge to tweet about it, the more it felt wrong.

We've been to lots of places as walid want us to see the world. Think local only okay? We're not that rich. Eheh.

We have never really been taking pictures. To think about it, walid never owns a camera although he do adventures. We settled down to this admiring places but rarely took any pictures  rhythm. Even with the simplicity of a smartphone.

But, everyone were doing it. Taking pictures and telling everyone about it. Some of my friends travel to places and even updates there and then. It felt like the natural thing to do when others were Like-ing it and saying things like "seronoknya" "nak pegi jugak" "you're so lucky" etc etc.

I took pictures. The beauty of places. The occasion of make do family photos. Candid. I have even took those look here we are and we are so happy worthy of a Facebook upload photo. That one however felt so wrong. Whatever the heck in my little heart and mind, it felt like a wrong thing to do. It does not feel natural.

At first I thought that I have been raised not doing that. So it is just a thing I am not used to. The more I think about it, especially realizing how little photos we have before, but we are still so content is that the photos and the Likes and this updating everything was simply not something I need. I just have a very funny way to feel all wrong and it was simply me telling myself, you really don't need to do all of that.

It was so much work really. The need to take a good picture that I think people would like and at the same time showing the world this is how I see it but really it was they way I want you to see me. All the caption or no caption needed. The anticipation of people acknowledgement be it I don't really care but I would still be much affected anyway. Looking back at my Gallery and wondering these photos meant nothing. Looking back at the uploaded photo holding so much more behind it but is never going to be understood by others.

It wasn't me.

So I quit. I am not really giving myself out before. Only this Twitter thingy.

I do post my photo and random quotes because I like to challenge myself for good pictures (i like photography) and quote (i love words more !) and I like to share it. It is something I am passionate about. That were different. This is personal.

My memories and moments. All those things happened in my simple little life. That was all mine and mine alone.

I think i'm just going to be like no more hell bent on pictures and stuff. Only the important things. It wasn't really the pictures that matter. Most importantly it was never having to have this need that I need to share this to the world.

It was the magic in the adventure and the mutual understanding among those whose been there. The knowing of the paramount moments the places gives and the feelings we could share. It was the same joy we have felt and the silence promise to get more. It was really all the mind trick.

Just fyi, I am not deactivating my Twitter. It simply went back to its most primal duties.

Besides, i got my blog to pour my hearts out. Those word limitation in Twitter is ridiculous.

Roll On : Did I touch your soul?

Jul 28, 2016

I'm going to "advertise" this post on my Instagram, Twitter and Facebook because i am an attention seeker and partly because I want to convey this message to my friend as well.

Does an attention seeker admit he/she is an attention seeker and did you actually thought i am indeed an attention seeker? You see, now i'm confused with myself, am i an attention seeker?

I realized some things yesterday, as if yesterday, my birthday, yesterday my birthday kind of yesterday. My birthday is on 27th July. Yes, yesterday birthday yesterday. I am officially a graduating (insyaAllah) 23 years old stupid, self centered and hopeless girl whose birthday is yesterday.

Anyway, back to the realization.

Firstly, i don't actually expecting my birthday and only come to realize that it is my birthday when my darling Nabila wishes me. She is a 10 years old girl that thought a birthday is an important thing and the fact she remembers mine shows a lot how she is capable to love.

Secondly, days before my birthday, i was going through Facebook, trying to switch off the birthday notification. I never like FB to announce my birthday. At first I thought that I don't want to feel that I am a nobody since i am sure not much will bother to wish me and i will feel rather hurt. Talk about low self esteem there. Sometime i thought it is a personal thing and i dont FB to remind everyone. Also i don't want to be thanking people who i dont really know who simply gave a HB. But the best reason i would say because I myself don't remember my friends birthday much and not particularly inclined to celebrate it except for a certain peoples. To tell you the truth, I think i chose to celebrate for some is because i know it will make them happy and not because i thought birthday is a festive to venture on.

Thirdly, i dont do birthday. I hardly do any celebration that I deemed not necessary. All those Muslim festives, that i do. It is a good and meaningful event that I truly set to celebrate but birthday was like mehhhhhh.

Lastly, i actually DON'T switch it off. The FB notification i mean. I can't find it and simply thought that i might have switch it off for good last year. I don't think i get much wishes but the few i got was so dearly endearing. It come from all of those I have known personally and the wishes they gave are just what I thought how they will actually do it because they were being themselves and that is all i ever wanted.

There are those that didn't wish me and it is quite weird because i always have thought that it is a deemed responsibility. To wish birthday. Well, i know i don't do it much but I always thougt my circles were those of saint thus do take this responsibility. Or maybe i am that much of a nobody. Yeah.

I thought it is quite liberating that i acknowledge these four realization which actually don't really matter much to why i want to do this post but well, babbling is fun.

I always thought i am quite insignificant. I mean, it is not like i pity myself. I just always kept to myself and known to have a harsh approach to things. I thougt i am harsh because my friends were friggin saint. It is quite exagerrated but it truly is. I am lucky to know them although some might thought being too kind is not always good but damn, they were extremely saint that i envy the amount of patience they have.

It just that I don't really know how to be friends to others. I think it is simply because the passion i have don't actually match other. Some people try to fit in, i tried too, i really do, but it's hard to be something that i don't particularly enjoy. Or maybe because i'm a hard person. Or too picky.

I went a rather very long long longgggggg way of think about stuff, like these ramble. Why? I like to understand myself.

The other day, there is this quote i read saying that when we love a particular character in a book, it is a true kind of love because we love them for how they were. Like the way they think, their habit, their insecurities and happiness and etc etc. That we are in love with their soul. I like this quote, it makes me giddy.

So when i understand myself, i think it help me to understand other. Like fitting into their shoes. Or at least by the way i have potrayed myself to others thus allowed me to understand what they might have understand from that. This world is a big play and we are our own main character.

Seeing those birthday wishes, realizing the sincerity behind it, knowing the beautiful person who thought it and understanding that somehow people has appreciated me for whatever things that i may not actually deserved, it makes me happy. It made me grateful. For all flaws i have and stupidly awful at keeping friend, i still have these moment which i really do appreciate. That i can call as my own.

It is not only these wishes really. It is everything. Knowing people and trying to understand them has teaches me a lot. It made me think a lot and i like it. I like to know it. To understand it. To realize how a particular moment may touch deeply into my soul.

I can only thanks Allah so much for these wonderful experience. Even more grateful for the joyous ones. Too grateful to be given the chances to know these people and somehow been appreciated by them. That my petty life has been acknowledge into their life. I do nothing but Allah gaves me this and it is precious. My precious.

I told my friends when we have this last gathering that they shouldn't let anything let them down because they are wonderful. They are wonderful, victorious and strong. I truly, religiously believe it, though some say they do not see it. Heck, I may not be able to speak the words of this wonderful belief i have in them but i do hope they believe me.

You don't understand the depth of understanding i tried to reach upon people in my life and how when i say they are who there are is actually truly what i believe.

So, did you found your soul?

Did i touch your soul?

Happy 23rd birthday Afifah. Improve yourself. Truly believe in yourself. Reach the stars and remind yourself to always be humble. Love Allah. Live for Him.

Roll On: Please remember this.

May 31, 2016

I do feel quite overwhelmed these few weeks. There has been a specific factor to it. I admit that. Then come the circumstances of the environment that make it worse.

It's been tiring with clinical attachment, 15+ pages of report, assignment, projects, meeting people expectatition, meeting my own expectation, my own feelings and my inner demons.

Somehow, i kinda want a cuf of coffee right now. A coffee would be nice at this time. Like really. Am i addicted or somehow?

*deep breath*

Anywayyyyy

I usually can get hold of problems and feelings that arise if I got my heart at the right path. I kinda have this positive mindset thing that I usually does which is sort of "i can do this" drive. It helps me to go through but I currently don't seem to be able to summon this drive. Heck, it won't even arise a little bit as if it has been a total alien.

These feelings stuff thus has been suffocating. It got me all upside down and stuff. It still does but I like to put it in past tense just for the feel that I got this under control. Those positive mindset arise when i know that i get this under control that if anything bad happen it is totally cool of some sort.

But.

We can't always be in control. That was kind of the point Allah gives us all the messy-ness. Isn't it? To show who is the boss.

Ok.

Well, actuallyyyyy,

in the middle of writing this,

I do took a break for coffee.

Haha.

Its' been raining and the evening dusk was achingly beautiful. It colours the sky with this orange dust and it's been such way during our entire dinner.

We have our dinner at this cute restaurant sitting on the high stool facing the street. It was a good choice. It was a beautiful evening to sat by the road and not facing each other. Soaked in our own little world.

When we get back, I actually sat by the sliding door facing outside of our apartment since we still have some time before dark. I wait until the orange glimpse was far outreach to the west with the said cup of coffee.

I love it. Allah was such a wonderful creator. I always at awe at how this unthinkable things struck us and somehow make us decide it is a wonderful and beautiful thing just in a split second.

Allah offers a lot.

What I always forgot these days is that no matter how hard or impossible it seem Allah never forgotten us. Never left us to walk those path alone. If only do we know where to find Him. Heck, the most important things is to actually remember to find him.

Despite the hopelessness and tiresome along the path, He gave us this little thing to sort of heal us a little. Like the beautiful evening dusk. To help to patch us up here and there so that we can move on. He knew us so well to treat us with this and that but we have failed to understand Him most of the time. I'm sorry Allah. Heck, I feel sorry for myself.

We have never be able to be in control.

This is where i have been wrong. The drive "i can do this" was not because i'm in control. But because i'm simply giving my best and hope for the best.

That is why we planned and leave the rest to Him. That is why He asked us to only put hope on Him and only Him. That is why we have to love Him with all we can offer and beyond so that we would never be heart broken.

How can it be possible to be heart broken when He can never let us down and would never let us go. He has been the one and only who has never left us. Isn't that proof enough?

Humans were flawed. I am flawed. Tainted. We keep getting push asides or push people away. We keep feeling unneeded and insignificant or made others feel so.

We were so fucked up that we cannot see that it was only the games put by shaytaan into our mind. Sometimes it was just some meaningless words helding no physical harm on us. Only petty little things that we encased in our brain, making us feel like in a total lockdown.

Allah say that He love us and gives all the life has offered and we were taken a back by some thoughts and says. He was worth more than that and we gives so little. No. I take that. We give nothing. Nothing.

We have nothing to give except for our obedience and efforts. To use this life the best way possible.

To keep on getting stronger with all the trials He give. Because he MATTERS and made everything else insignificant. He MATTERS and made everything else put into the right perspective

This is so important. Dearly important. I pray that I would always remember it.

Hey Ramadhan. I want you.

Roll On : Good times Bad times

Apr 24, 2016

In my case, bad memories is stubborn. Like those stupid small yet very obvious stain on your favourite t-shirt. Those that you can't remove that you start questioned yourself why the heck these things happen to your petty little life.

Bad memories hurts long way. I don't know why, I personally need a very long time. Yet, nope, nada, na-ah. Time does not heal. But sometime along the way, something would rise up and be the antidote that you need. But damn, in the mean time, I tend to still get hurt on remembering it. It sucks so bad.

I learned that to forgive yourself is like the ultimate key. To accept, to make peace, to learn from mistakes, to be that person that fight against these bad memories are gem and diamond. The Queen freaking crown. I desperately need it..

I am truly at lost here. Good memories were not fair. They were so joyful to create. But short lived, lower impact.

I think i'm gettin my period. I'm too moody. My period schedule has gone crazy.

Looking at emptied plates after a satisfying meal is fun.

Roll On : Keeping My Brain at Work
